Russian grain exports continue at pace as ministry ups forecast

Russia’s record-breaking pace of exports continued into the week ending March 14, with over 1.8 million mt of grains sold over the past 10 days, data from the ministry of agriculture showed Monday.

With ministry officials now talking openly of grain exports topping as much as 50 million mt, Russia would need to have just under 1 million mt of grain leaving each week – a feat it has repeatedly demonstrated it is capable of this marketing year.

Official ministry export forecasts remain at 45-47 million mt.

Wheat exports now stand at 36.36 million mt, a 41% increase on the same stage last year, barley totalled 4.16 million mt, up 90%, and corn totalled 3.56 million mt, up 1%.
