Russian pea exports set a record in October


In view of substantially increased pea production in Russia in 2017, export shipments of this pulse crop set new records. So, Russian exporters supplied a record 183 KMT of peas to foreign markets in October, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Traditionally, Turkey remains the top destination for Russian peas this season – its export share equals 47%. Further growth of Russian pea exports to India is reported. A similar situation has developed with regard to the market of Bangladesh. Russia exported 40% more peas to this country in July-October 2017/18 than in MY 2016/17.

EU countries, on the contrary, reduced imports at the time.
