Russian Railways: Loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up 4.5% to 102.4 million tonnes in 4M’18

Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 4.5%, year-on-year, to 102.4 million tonnes in January-April 2018.

In particular, coal loading grew by 4.4%, ferrous metal – by 4.8%, fertilizers – by 13.6%, grain – by 51.9%, paper – by 7.4%, timber – by 16.7%.

Coal accounts for 45% of exports, oil – for 27.2%, ferrous metal – for 9.2%, fertilizers – for 6.8%, grain – for 4.3%.

In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 44.4 million tonnes (+11.6%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 25.4 million tonnes (-4.9%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 32.6 million tonnes (+3.6%).
