Russian soybean oil production to hit a high in MY 2016/17


Russia boosted again soybean processing in April 2017. Consequently, soybean oil production grew by more than 16% from the previous month, to 51.2 KMT against 44.1 KMT a month earlier.

The current 2016/17 season (September-April) continues hitting new highs, confirming UkrAgroConsult’s expectations. So, soybean oil output reached 422.2 KMT in the reporting period, or almost 2% more than at the same time in MY 2015/16 (414.5 KMT). As before, soybean oil accounts for over 10% of the total production of vegoils.

Soybean oil production is expected to be at 630-640 KMT by the end of the current season.
