Russian sunflower meal exports at the lowest level since MY 2013/14

A slowdown in Russian sunmeal exports is observed by the end of the current 2016/17 season. So, shipments to foreign markets totaled 24.4 KMT in July against 26.7 KMT in June 2017 and 39.5 KMT in July 2016.

Russia exported 1126.7 KMT of this product for the eleven months of MY 2016/17 – this was a four-year low, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As before, the key destinations for Russian sunmeal exports are European countries and Turkey. Europe, though remaining the top importer (48% of total exports), reduced meal purchases from Russia by almost 23%. Turkey, on the contrary, stepped up imports of Russian sunmeal by 32% year-on-year, absorbing 42% of its total exports.
