Russian vegoil production still at a record high


Russian vegoil production increased 3.8% in the 2017/18 season and hit a new high for this period, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, Russian crushers made 3677 KMT of vegoil in September-March versus 3542.5 KMT at the same time in MY 2016/17.

Roughly 501 KMT of vegoils were produced in Russia in March 2018. This was down 3.7% in February and down 2% from in March 2017.

The gain resulted mostly from expanding sunoil production in the country. Russia produced 2980 KMT of sunoil in September-March 2017/18 that is up almost 3% on the year.

Solnechnye Produkty Holding has shipped by water this year’s first sunoil cargo of 5 KMT.

The bulk sunoil was shipped by the ‘Balt Flot 17’ tanker along the Volga River directly from a Balakov-based plant to Rostov-on-Don.

Water shipments are a promosing area of logistics. In 2017, the Balakov plant loaded 17 vessels with 43 KMT of bulk sunoil and some 9 KMT of granulated husks during the navigation period (May-November).
