Russian watchdog to ban feedstuff import from Ukraine due to GMO

Ukraine bans 243 Russian companies from working on its territory — security service

Russian veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor will ban import of feedstuff from Ukraine from August 1 because of identified unregistered gene-modified components in products, official spokesperson of the regulator Yuliya Melano told TASS on Friday.

"Rosselkhoznadzor introduces temporary restrictions on supply of feedstuff and feed additives for animals produced by Ukrainian enterprises to prevent penetration of products unsafe in veterinarian-sanitary aspects to the Russian territory from August 1, 2016," Melano said.
