S.Korea’s NOFI issues tender for 138,000 T corn, 65,000 T feed wheat

Nonghyup Feed Inc (NOFI), South Korea’s largest feedmaker, has issued an international tender to purchase up to 138,000 tonnes of corn and up to 65,000 tonnes of feed wheat to be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Wednesday.

Tender deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 13, they said.

The yellow corn is sought in two consignments of 52,000 tonnes to 69,000 tonnes for arrival in South Korea around Jan. 20, 2018, and Feb. 5, 2018, traders said.

Quality equivalent to U.S. number 3 yellow corn grade or better was sought.

The feed wheat is sought in one consignment for arrival around Feb. 5, 2018, they said. Argentine-origin wheat is excluded from the tender.

Chicago corn futures fell 1.7 percent on Tuesday, the biggest drop for a most-active contract in nearly a month, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture raised its 2017 corn yield forecast, bucking most trade expectations for a reduction.
