September exports of Kazakh flour hit a record high since 2010

Like in the case of wheat, Kazakhstan started the new flour season of 2016/17 with brisk exports, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, 177 KMT of flour was supplied to foreign markets in September 2016, or 18.6% more than at the same time last season (149.2 KMT in September 2015). In addition, the September export volume is the largest for this month since 2010.

The top importers of Kazakh flour remain the same neighboring countries as ever. However, noteworthy is a sharp rise in the imports to Afghanistan which ousted Uzbekistan from the No. 1 position among the buyers in 2015/16.

According to UkrAgroConsult data, in September 2016, Afghanistan purchased a record monthly amount of wheat from Kazakhstan – 127.6 KMT, or twice as much as imported in September 2015.

Kazakh flour exports to Uzbekistan, on the contrary, fell to 39 KMT in September against 68.4 KMT last year.

Kazakhstan exported 2157 KMT of flour in 2015/16.

UkrAgroConsult forecasts this season`s export availabilities to increase 20% due to expanding production of both wheat and flour in the country.
