South Korea pork production on upward trend

02.11.2016

Pork production in South Korea is on the rise, putting pressure on farm, wholesale and retail prices and resulting in a “generally depressed pork market,” Rabobank said it its Pork Quarterly Q4 report 2016. Rabobank sees this situation to continue next year as both hog and sow herd has grown.

As such, pork supply will continue to grow, putting further pressure on prices and leading to a further decline in imports in 2017 and perhaps beyond.
