South Korea relaxes rules for US poultry imports

South Korea has relaxed its policy on imports of US poultry and eggs. The country’s new regionalisation policy states that it will only ban imports of poultry products from state(s) affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

The rest of the US will continue to be able to proceed with exports to South Korea.  “The US now becomes the world’s most reliable supplier of poultry products to Korea,” said Jim Sumner, President of the USA Poultry & Egg Council. “No other country has such a regionalisation agreement with Korea.”
