Sowing started in Kazakhstan

Spring growth of winter wheat started everywhere in the southern half of Kazakhstan from March 11-20 in view of above-zero air temperatures, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In South-Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, winter wheat is at the stages from emergence to third leaf. Winter wheat is in good condition in South Kazakhstan region. Some air temperature increase was observed in West Kazakhstan region that contributed to the overwintering of winter cereals.

Sowing of wheat, barley and oats began in Kyzylorda region. Farmers in Akmola region began preparing for spring field work.
