Soybean exchange trading launched in Russia

The opening of a Russian exchange floor for soybean trading was presented at an international exhibition fair of cross border trade in Suifenhe. It aroused great interest from Chinese entrepreneurs. The interest of buyers consists in the opportunity to purchase high-quality product at the producer price via auctions and exchange trading. This is achieved by eliminating wholesale middlemen from the trade chain, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Initially, some 7 KMT of soybeans of Primorye origin has been put up for sale. The number of participants of soybean exchange trading is expected to rise significantly in the near future, including at the expense of Chinese importers. This will be promoted by China’s growing need for soybeans along with its interest in the pollutant- and GMO-free product from Russia.

Over 200 KMT of new-crop soybeans are expected to be exported from Primorye region to China in the 2018/19 season.
