Soybean harvest speeds up in Mato Grosso (Brazil)


The soybean harvest in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, the largest producer of the oilseed, reached 58.3% of the planted surface, according to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agriculture Economics (Imea). In one week, there was an advance of 13.34 percentage points, but there is still a delay compared to the previous crop season.

Last year, the works were alreeady by 66.1% of the total surface, but the current pace is head of the average of the last five years (57.85%). The Brazilian state has planted in this season 23.3 million acres or 9.4 million hectares.
