03.11.2016

Half of what was expected to be planted of soybeans in Argentina could be planted because of recent flods in the province of Buenos Aires, south of Santa Fe and south of Córdoba, the three largest producing regions. The average progress of the planting by this time of the year is 23 percent, but just reached 12.5 percent.

In some parts of the Buenos Aires province, as the location of General Villegas in the Northwest, rains acummualted over 15 inches. Now, according to Rodolfo Rossi, president of the Association of Soybean Growers of Argentina, farmers have to rush to be able to finish planting on time. “In some fields, some people did not finish planting only one hectare,” affirmed Rossi.
