Soybean planting kicks off and reaches 1.2% of surface in Mato Grosso


The soybean planting in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso reached 1.2 percent of the forecast surface until yesterday, according to data released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea). The expectation is that the state plants 23.1 million acres in this season.

By the same period of 2015, planting was at 0.55 percent of the estimated surface. Production costs are expected to be at US$ 920 per hectare.
