Strong demand raises Q1 Philippine pork output


The country’s hog production in the first quarter rose by 2.4 % to 558,720 tonnes on the back of increasing demand for pork and improvement in the purchasing power of Filipinos. The PSA said output in the same period last year reached 545, 670 tonnes.

The increase is also the largest first quarter production recorded by the local hog sector, according to the PSA.
