Sunflower meal exports from Russia at the lowest level since MY 2011/12

Russia exported 137.1 KMT of sunmeal in November 2017/18 or 66.7% more than in the previous month (82.3 KMT), but 22.6% less than in November 2016/17 (177.2 KMT). This season (September-November), sunmeal deliveries not only decreased 30.3% year-on-year to 251 KMT from 360 KMT, but also hit their lowest level since MY 2011/12, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Turkey has become the top importer of Russian sunmeal in the current season 2017/18 (50% of total exports). Remarkably, this happened not at the expense of a greater volume of purchases (they, on the contrary, dropped to 124.8 KMT against 157.6 KMT a year ago), but due to almost halved exports to Europe (36%). In addition, Egypt doubled imports from Russia (7%), while supplies to Iran (3%) in the first three months of the current marketing year already totaled as much as for the whole last season.
