Sunflower planting in Ukraine exceeded the target by 3%


According to Ukraine’s Ag Ministry, sunflower was planted on 5563 Th ha by June 9 that is 103% of the planned 5390 Th ha (official data). The planting progress is 2% ahead of last year: 5456 Th ha of sunflower was sown at the same time a year ago.

Soya was planted on 1873 Th ha by June 9 that is 96% of its forecast area (the official forecast equals 1948 Th ha) and 0.9% more than by the same date last year. So, 1855 Th ha of soya was sown in 2016.
