Thai agricultural products index falls

27.07.2018

The Office of Agricultural Economics (OAT) revealed that the agricultural price index of farmers in June declined 3.6% compared to the same period last year due to slower demand for pork and other agricultural products. Vinaroj Sapsongsuk, Secretary General of the OAT said the income index is expected to appreciate in July by 9.87%, as a result of the index of output in the month.

In August 2018, the farm income index is expected to remain favourable although the price index is expected to be stable compared to the same period last year. The new season of feed corn in the market and pork meats are expected to be good as a result of the cool weather that encourages pigs to grow faster.
