At the St. Petersburg international economic forum raised the issue of lifting restrictions on imports of Turkish tomatoes

The ban on the export of tomatoes from Turkey will last at least 3 years, said at SPIEF-2017, the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev, writes "RIA Novosti".

In addition, this article considers the problem of seasonal supply of tomatoes from Turkey, told TASS Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich on the sidelines of the forum.

"The Ministry of agriculture only began to discuss with them (the seasonal supply of tomatoes – ed.)", — he said, noting that the outcome of these negotiations yet. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister stated that the ban on the export of tomatoes from Turkey could last another 3-5 years.

We will remind, on may 22, Russia and Turkey documented assured the removal of restrictions in mutual trade, excluding tomatoes. However, as stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia will consider lifting the restrictions on the supply of Turkish tomatoes after the Russian manufacturers will come to return.

"As for these commodities, particularly tomatoes, we can't plan forever close its market to all imports, including imports of tomatoes," — said the President of Russia.
