The Ministry of agriculture stated the resumption of dialogue with Germany in the agricultural sector


Russia and Germany on 14 November in Hannover for the first time in four years discussed the issues of agriculture, reported on the website of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.

"We can say the resumption of the dialogue in the agrarian sphere with Germany at the highest level. The beginning of activity of working group, whose last meeting was held in 2013, is a striking proof of this", — said the Director of the international cooperation Department of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation Olga garshyna, words which are contained in the message.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues of expansion of mutual trade in the conditions of current Russian response to EU sanctions, the Russian supply of ecologically clean agricultural products on the German market, cooperation in the field of organic agriculture, breeding and seed production, viticulture and winemaking, IT-technologies in the field of agriculture, as well as the format of participation of Russia in activities of the business program of the international Green week in 2018, and the Global forum on food security.

The German side confirmed its interest in the development of the Russian Federation long-term partnership in the field of organic farming, noting the strategic nature of cooperation and great potential of joint projects in the industry. The parties also discussed is scheduled for November 21 in the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation a round table on the theme "Russian-German cooperation in the field of organic agriculture: organic clusters and counseling centers in the regions of Russia".

Garshina noted that the European partners give the signal to restore contacts and the resumption of expert work, and, in her opinion, countries are able to maintain a positive vector of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Ministry notes that the turnover in the first nine months of 2017 between Russia and Germany grew by 17.8% compared to the same period in 2016.
