The number of cattle in Germany fell to the lowest in 27 years

12.01.2017

The number of cattle (cattle) in Germany contracted for the second consecutive year, according to the results of the November inventory.

Now the number of cattle in Germany had reached the lowest level at least since 1990. The German cattle herd is the second largest in the EU.

Looking ahead, experts predict that a further decline in the total number of cows in Germany is inevitable, which in turn, will lead to a reduction in the number of calves in the very near future. Now there is a decline in the number of calves one percent.

Germany is a key producer of beef in the EU and, given the reduction of cattle, the decline in total beef production is inevitable, at least in the short term
