The production of yoghurt, milk and cheese has decreased in Ukraine

In June of the current year the production of yoghurt, milk and cheese decreased in Ukraine. It is reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The production of yoghurt and other fermented milk or cream during the reporting period compared to June 2016 declined by 6.6% and amounted to 34.8 thousand tons. Compared to May of the current year the production decreased by 8.8%.

In addition, during the reporting period the production of processed liquid milk in Ukraine decreased in comparison with June 2016 by 3.4% — to 76.7 thousand tons, compared to May 2017 — by 6.5%.

During June of the current year there was made 5.2 thousand tons of unfermented fresh cheese (including cottage cheese), which is 2.1% less than in June last year. Compared to May the production decreased by 12.7%.

As for the volume of butter production, in June it amounted to 11.7 thousand tons, 4% more compared to June 2016 and 3.9% more compared to May 2017.

The production of rennet and processed cheeses increased by 2.3% (from June to June) to 10.1 thousand tons, and compared to May of the current year it fell by 4.7%.
