The start of Russian milk supplies to China is expected in the summer of 2019

The first deliveries of Russian milk to the Chinese market are expected in the summer of 2019. This was said by Russian trade representative in China Sergey Inyushin on Monday in an interview with TASS.

"This year the supply of Russian milk should begin", Inyushin said. "We expect the supplies to start in summer".

In November last year, the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation reported that “Russia and China made protocols on veterinary and sanitary requirements for the mutual supply of frozen poultry meat and dairy products”. It follows from the documents that now Russian poultry farmers, producers of cow, goat and sheep milk, as well as products from it have opportunities to export to the Chinese market. In particular, we are talking about condensed and non-condensed cream, buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, whey, butter, cheese, cottage cheese and casein.

As previously stated by Rosselkhoznadzor, the supply of dairy products will be carried out under the conditions that a system ensuring that raw milk is produced from healthy animals is working in the countries, and the origin of dairy products is tracked to producers and farms.

Producers of exported dairy and poultry products must be registered by the competent authorities of the parties, respectively. Russian enterprises - in the Chief customs administration of China, Chinese exporting enterprises must be approved by the Rosselkhoznadzor.

As Inyushin pointed out, "the protocols have been signed, now there is a necessary procedure for the admission of Russian products to the Chinese market".
