Tkachev: food imports has almost halved in three years

The share of imports in the consumption of pork has decreased three times, from 26% in 2013 to 8% in 2016, and poultry – by 2.5 times. In addition, twice reduced the import of vegetables from 866 thousand tons in 2013 to 463 thousand tons in 2016. At the same time, production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia increased by 30%, said the Ministry of agriculture. The Ministry predicts that in 2017, the harvest of vegetables and fruits in Russia will remain at last year's level despite adverse weather conditions.

Agricultural production in Russia for three years grew by 11% on the background of the implementation of measures on import substitution.
