Top importer of Russian sunoil changed again


Russia exported 239 KMT of sunoil in December 2017/18, or almost 4% more than in the previous month (230 KMT) and up 7.2% from December 2016 (223 KMT). Russian exports stay at a record level in the first four months of the current season, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, 762 KMT of sunoil was supplied to foreign markets in September-December 2017/18, or 23.3% more than at the same time last year.

The current 2017/18 season continues witnessing a leader change in the export market of Russian sunoil. Egypt became the top importer in the four-month period, when it boosted purchases to 167.7 KMT (22% of total exports) against 95.6 KMT a year ago.

It is followed by Turkey (18%), though Turkish imports plummeted to 138.6 KMT versus 244.3 KMT a year ago. Below on the list are China (9%), Iran (8%) and Uzbekistan (7%). In addition, India, remaining the key importer of Ukrainian sunoil, still shows interest in the product from Russia.
