Turkey and India considerably increased Ukrainian peas purchases

During the first month of 2016/17 season Ukraine exported a record monthly volume of peas - about 94 KMT (17.5 KMT in July 2015).

Main share of exports were traditionally shipped to the Indian market - 65%. For India it was also a maximum monthly volume of Ukrainian peas imports. Turkey significantly increased purchase, importing about 11.8 KMT of Ukrainian peas against 2 KMT in 2015/16 MY during one month. This is the maximum purchase volume from the side of Turkey in the last five seasons. Pakistan remains a stable leader among Ukrainian importers of peas, importing 8.7 KMT. In the new season Bangladesh, the EU and Africa also remain among the important Ukrainian peas export markets.

Ukraine exported a record monthly volume of peas

As a reminder in the current season Ukraine harvested a record peas crop during the last 20 years, reaching more than 750 KMT. According to UkrAgroConsult estimates, export potential of Ukrainian peas in 2016/17 season can reach about 520-540 KMT.
