Turkey boosting imports of Russian wheat bran


Russia continues to expand wheat bran shipments in season 2016/17, reports UkrAgroConsult. The country exported 179.5 KMT of wheat bran in Q1 2016/17, or 11% more than at the same time a year ago (161.5 KMT was exported in July-September 2015/16).

Turkey remains the key destination market for Russian wheat bran: the country absorbed 93% of all of its exports in the period under review. In 2016/17, Turkey has already stepped up Russian ban imports by 20%, to 167.1 KMT against 139.7 KMT at the same time last year.

According to UkrAgroConsult data, in general, this season’s deliveries of Russian wheat bran continued to the traditional export outlets such as Vietnam, Korea, and China.

UkrAgroConsult notes that Russia exported roughly 800 KMT of wheat bran in MY 2015/16.
