Turkey returns to barley market of Romania


In April 2017 Romania exported 44 KMT barley, which was all time high for this month. This volume was 6 times higher than 5-year average for April barley shipments (7.2 KMT).

Key buyers of April 2017 were Turkey, Libya, Syria and Israel. 

Thus, since the beginning of 2016/17 (July-April) Romania exported 842 KMT of barley (-43% y/y) compared to 1467 KMT exported over the same period last season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Turkey gradually returns to the barley market of Romania this season, importing 40 KMT. Last season Turkish importers were not on the list of buyers, but in 2014/15 imported 150 KMT of Romanian barley.
