Ukraine. 15% rail freight tariffs increase agreed

The State Regulatory Service of Ukraine approved the 15% increase in rail freight tariffs. According to the acting Chairman of the Board of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, Evgeny Kravtsov, the 15% increase in freight rates is the result of a compromise and open dialogue with business structures.

It should be noted that previously the Federation of Employers offered to increase the rail freight tariffs of “Ukrzaliznytsia” in two stages: in 2017 - by 8.4% and in 2018 - by 9%. “Ukrzaliznytsia”, in its turn, deemed unacceptable the offer of market participants to raise the rail freight tariffs by only 8.4% in 2017, reports UkrAgroConsult.
