Ukraine. 2017/18 rapeseed oil production down 4.8% year-on-year

Rapeseed oil production by Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers totaled 17.2 KMT in September 2017, or 45.7% less than in the previous month (31.7 KMT). However, higher rapeseed crushing than last year has been reported for a second month in a row. So, rapeseed oil output gained 11% against September 2016 (15.5 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Overall, a 4.8% lag behind last year is observed in the first three months of the new 2017/18 season (July-September). So, production shrank to 51.7 KMT against 54.3 KMT a year ago.

Rapeseed stocks held by crushers as of early October 2017, which were up almost 54% year-on-year, still suggest that rape oil production may rise in the 2017/18 season against the previous marketing year.
