Ukraine. 60 KMT of grains harvested in Odesa region


Harvesting of early cereals is gaining pace in Odesa region. 59.8 KMT of grains have been harvested to date.

This work started in the south of the region on June 20, i.e. 10 days later than in 2016 due to this year’s cold spring. In Reni, Kiliya, Izmail districts, growers have already begun harvesting cereals and pulses, enjoying favorable weather conditions, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In total, farmers in Odesa region planted 280.5 Th ha of barley and 585.4 Th ha of wheat for the 2017 harvest. It is projected to complete reaping winter barley there by the end of June. Then the growers will proceed to peas and wheat. As of today, 10 out of the 26 agricultural districts have already joined the harvest in the region.
