Ukraine. A bill on using biofuel in gasoline will be registered in Parliament

The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine is going to shortly register in Parliament a bill regulating the mandatory use of biofuel in gasoline, said the Agency’s Head Sergiy Savchuk.

According to him, this bill envisages that the gasoline composition in Ukraine must include at least 3-4 energy percent of bioethanol additives or biodiesel from July 1, 2018, and at least 4.8 energy percent from July 1, 2019.

This will allow substituting oil products. 95% of them are imported, though Ukraine has huge volumes of corn, which is only shipped abroad as a raw material. At the same time, other countries make bioethanol from corn and use this product as a fuel.
