Ukraine. A seasonal decline in margarine production

Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers produced 16.2 KMT of margarine in June 2018, i.e. almost 28% more than in the previous month (12.7 KMT) but 13% less than in June 2017 (18.6 KMT). The last three months in the current year witnessed lower margarine production than in the same period last year, therefore the upward year-on-year trend was reversed. Consequently, total margarine production in the first half of 2018 dropped 0.5% on the year to 108.6 KMT against 109.1 KMT in H1 2017.

Taking into account the upcoming seasonal surge in margarine market activity by the year end, overall margarine output in 2018 can be expected to gain up to 0.5%, reaching some 227.5 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
