Ukraine. Ag Ministry raised its forecast for this year’s grain production


The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine forecasts 2017 output of cereals and pulses at some 62.3 MMT (net weight) with a yield of 4.28 MT/ha. The previous grain production forecast of the Ministry for this year equaled 62 MMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

So, according to its report, the crop of wheat is expected at 26.1 MMT with a yield of 4.1 MT/ha and that of grain corn at 25.2 MMT with a yield of 5.6 MT/ha. The crop of barley is expected at 8.3 MMT with a yield of 3.31 MT/ha, rye at 497.4 KMT (2.91 MT/ha), oats at 478.7 KMT (2.43 MT/ha), buckwheat at 180.3 KMT (1 MT/ha), millet at 83.3 KMT (1.5 MT/ha) and rice at 70.2 KMT (5.53 MT/ha).

As a reminder, UkrAgroConsult forecasts this year’s crop of cereals and pulses at 62.2-62.7 MMT (64.2 MMT was in 2016).
