Ukraine. Agrometeorological conditions are favorable for planting

The April 11-20 agrometeorological conditions all over the country were favorable for growth of winter crops and sowing early spring cereals, reports UkrAgroConsult.

High air temperatures have persisted since the resumption of winter crops growth (April 2-4), which started 10-14 days after the long-term average time. This triggered a strong increase in the size of plants and accelerated their development. This is observed primarily in winter wheat sown on early dates after the best and fertilized predecessors. Back in the fall, it featured a well-developed root system capable of taking up soil nutrients and water effectively.

Overall, winter cereals are mostly in good and fair condition all across the country.

Planting of early spring cereals and pulses is going on. The weather conditions have forced growers to begin sowing late feed and industrial crops. Scientists believe this year’s planting is to be finished within short time frames, desirably by April 25.
