Ukraine already exported over 16 mln tonnes of grains

Ukraine has exported over 16 million tonnes of grain crops in the current marketing year, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Rights Protection reports.

“Ukraine has exported over 16 million tonnes of grain crops since the start of the current marketing year, in particular almost 8.7 million tonnes of wheat (including over 5.2 million tonnes of milling wheat and over 3.5 million tonnes of feed wheat), about 3 million tonnes of barley, and over 4 million tonnes of corn,” reads the report.

A total of 15.5 million tonnes of grains were exported over the same period last marketing year. In particular, over 9 million tonnes of wheat (including about 5.1 million tonnes of milling wheat and over 4 million tonnes of feed wheat), 3.6 million tonnes of barley, and 2.4 million tonnes of corn were exported.

In the current marketing year, 2.3 million tonnes of oilseeds were exported, which corresponds to the level of the previous year.

As Ukrinform reported, during the previous marketing year from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, Ukraine exported 39,375 tonnes of grain crops to foreign markets: 17,139 tonnes of wheat; 4,289 tonnes of barley; 36,800 tonnes of rye, and 17,739 tonnes of corn.

The marketing year 2018/2019 started on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.
