
Ukraine and Belarus to provide USD 30 million to restore shipping along Dnieper

Ukraine and Belarus are ready to invest USD 30 million in the project of shipping industry resumption on the Dnieper River. Belarusian side is interested in shipping of Belarusian potassium and crude oil products along the Dnieper to the Black Sea with further exports and is ready to invest USD 5 million into the project. This amount is necessary to deepen the Dnieper river-bed in Belarusian sector, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In turn, Ukraine plans to invest around USD 25 million with foreign investors’ support in the modernization of water gates and dredging.
Ukraine and Belarus are also negotiating an establishment of a river transit hub on the border - in the village of Nizhnie Zhary in Gomel region.
