Ukraine imported 16 KMT of palm oil in March 2017 against 12.4 KMT in February 2017 and 15.8 KMT in March 2016. Overall, this season’s palm oil imports (September-March 2016/17) still run 3.8% ahead of the previous marketing year (114.6 KMT against 110.4 KMT at the same time in MY 2015/16) and already hit a four-season high, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In the current season, Indonesia continues reinforcing its position as a palm oil exporter to Ukraine. So, the country’s share in palm oil imports grew again in September-March 2016/17, to 84%, staying at a decade high. Respectively, Malaysia’s market share shrank to 15%. In addition, Ukraine imports minor volumes of this product from Sweden, Russia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Singapore.

Further prospects of the Black Sea oilseeds/vegoils market will be discussed at the V International Conference "Black Sea Oil Trade", which will take place on September 19, 2017 in Hilton hotel, Kiev, Ukraine.
