Ukraine. Cargill grain terminal in Yuzhny port is 50% ready


About a half of works has been done on grain terminal construction of global commodity trader Cargill in Yuzhny seaport. In addition, nearly 50% of the ground part of the terminal construction has been also performed, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In August 2015, Cargill, USPA and M. V. Cargo LLC signed a tripartite memorandum of intent to implement an investment project in the commercial seaport Yuzhny. The launch of grain terminal with a capacity of 5 MMT per year and berth #25 were previously scheduled for 2017. Cargill plans to invest USD 100 million in the project.

In May 2017, China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) and USPA agreed on dredging operations in Yuzhny port, as well as reconstruction of maritime approach channel in Yuzhny. The budget of the projects is UAH 1.065 billion and UAH 586 million respectively. In August 2017, China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. began operations in the port.
