Ukraine. Corn harvest is 77% complete


As of November 14, corn was harvested from 3458 Th ha (3228 Th ha in 2016) that is 77% of its planned area of 4509 Th ha. Its crop amounted to 17803 KMT (20044 KMT) with an average yield of 5.15 MT/ha (6.21 MT/ha), reports UkrAgroConsult.

In total, cereals and pulses were harvested from 13.51 Ml ha with a crop of 56.06 MMT and an average yield of 4.15 MT/ha (59.11 MMT and 4.46 MT/ha, respectively, in 2016).

The planting of winter cereals is almost complete. They were planted on 6894 Th ha by November 14 (95% out of the projected 7228 Th ha). Winter wheat and triticale were planted on 5928 Th ha (96%) against 5888 Th ha in 2016. At the same time, winter barley was sown on 819 Th ha (89%) and winter rye on 147 Th ha (93%).
