Ukraine. Corn harvesting is 34% slower than in 2015


By October 17 winter crops had been sown at 5307 Th ha, which was 72% of the forecasted area - 7374 Th ha, reports UkrAgroConsult. This included 4804 Th ha of winter wheat and triticale (77% from the planned 6198 Th ha), 140 Th ha of rye (95% of 147 Th ha), 364 Th ha of barley (35% of 1028 Th ha). Sowing pace is 8% slower than last year. By October 17, 2015 5744 Th ha had been sown with winter grains.

Ukrainian farmers continue to harvest grain crops and average pace is also slower than last year. Precipitations observed in the first ten days of October delayed field works in several regions. Pace of corn harvesting is the slowest in the last few years and 34% slower compared to 2015.
