Ukraine crushed record high soybean volume in January

In January 2018, production of soybean oil by large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine reached 19.0 KMT. This is 4% more than in December (18.3 KMT) and 21% more compared to January 2017 (15.8 KMT). The volume of soybean crushing set a new record in January, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In general, since the beginning of the 2017/18 season (September-January), soybean oil production reached 80.6 KMT (23% more compared to last season, and maximum for this period).

As a reminder, last year domestic soybean processing decreased in Ukraine in favor of record high exports. During five months of the current season, soybean exports from Ukraine are 6% higher than over the same period last season.

Along with soybean crop reduction in the 2017/18 marketing year, this situation increases the competition between crushers and traders in the domestic soybean market and may lead to raw materials deficit.
