Ukraine. Early planted winter grains are at tillering stage


In most of the country, it was abnormally warm for this time of year on October 20-31 (such weather has not been seen in 100 years).

The average daily air temperature varied from +6.50С to +11.50С, even to +15.90С in the west and +16.20С in the south. The highest air temperature reached +21.20С in the west and +19-230С in the south, staying within +14.80С-20.00С in the rest of Ukraine (6.2-10.00С above normal). The ground heated to +24-310С in the daytime. The lowest air temperature was registered at 0.0-6.00С, even at -10С in the east. The ground surface temperature hit the bottom at 20С below zero.

Precipitation in the form of rain occurred almost all over the country. Its rates varied within 2-19 mm, even 19.0-22.3 mm in the west that equaled 109% of normal for the last ten days of October. However, it did not improve soil moisture supply substantially, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The most productive precipitation was received by Dnipropetrovsk region. Its amount reached 10-20 mm (100-200% of normal for this time) in most of the region.

Winter grains planted prior to September 20 are at the tillering stage. Crop condition is good. Winter rape in Ukraine continues growing.
