28.03.2017

In 2017 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) intends to finance several projects related to Ukrainian port industry. The head of the EBRD in Ukraine Shevki Adzhuner did not specify which projects were discussed, and did not name the amount of investments in these projects, reports UkrAgroConsult.

According to Adjuner, in 2017 the EBRD expects to increase the amount of investments in projects implementation in Ukraine to EUR 1 billion. "Over the previous two years, we have invested EUR 2.2 billion in total, which is about EUR 1 billion a year, so I expect that this year we will increase the investments to this amount",– he said.

In 2016 the investments of EBRD in Ukraine reached nearly EUR 600 million due to political instability in Ukraine at the beginning of the year. The EBRD is the largest financial investor in Ukraine. Since the beginning of its business in the country in 1993, the bank has undertaken total liabilities for the provision of almost EUR 12 billion in 369 projects.
