Ukraine. EBRD working on several projects in seaports

Nowadays handling of agricultural cargoes is the most promising investment direction in the logistics sector. “Now the interest in agricultural logistics is very strong. It concerns grain and oil. Profound interest, many projects in work - perhaps, this is the most dynamic direction. Speaking about containers - we observe a surplus of capacities, as for general cargoes – here we also see some stagnation in terms of cargo flows", - said Mark Magaletsky, senior banker of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

According to the banker, now several projects in Ukrainian port sector are being implemented with the participation of the EBRD. They include - grain terminal construction by "M.V. Cargo" company in "Yuzhny" seaport and preparation to the concession of the State Enterprise "Stevedoring Company "Olvia". "We are also working on a number of other projects, but so far, we are not ready to voice their names and parameters. I hope that in the near future we will announce them", - he said.

Answering the question, what volume of financing from the EBRD the port industry may receive in 2017, Magaletsky noted that this depends on projects.
