29.11.2018

The turnover of agricultural trade between Ukraine and the European Union increased by 5% for the first nine months of this year.

“In January-September 2018, the turnover of agricultural trade between Ukraine and the European Union increased by 5% compared with the last year’s figures for the corresponding period and exceeded $6 billion. At the same time, the surplus amounted to $2.2 billion,” the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics” reports.

It is noted that six countries – the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Spain, Germany and France – remain the largest trading partners of Ukraine in the EU. Belgium makes claims to a prominent place in this ranking, as the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products with Ukraine increased by almost 35%, up to $ 336 million, compared to the same period last year. The total share of these seven countries is about 3/4 of the turnover of mutual trade in agricultural products.

According to the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, Ukraine’s top exports to Europe are grains and oilseeds, sunflower oil and sunflower oil cake.
