Ukraine exported over 1.5 MMT of soybeans this season

The pace of soybean exports from Ukraine somewhat slowed down in January 2017 against December 2016, when shipments reached unprecedented levels. So, 291.9 KMT of soybeans were supplied to foreign markets in January: 33.4% less than in December (438.6 KMT) but the largest volume for this month.

As a whole, the 2016/17 season features record-high exports, UkrAgroConsult notes. 1526.0 KMT was exported for the five months (September-January), or up 38% from last year.

Turkey, having reduced purchases of Ukrainian soybeans to 391.4 KMT (down 20.5% from last year), remains the top importer. Soybean deliveries to Egypt, Iran and the EU have increased substantially in the current 2016/17 season. In addition, Ukrainian exporters started supplying this product to Denmark, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea.
