Ukraine finished 2015/16 season with record high exports of soybean meal

In August soybean meal exports from Ukraine equaled 28.7 KMT against 27.5 KMT in July 2016 and 17.9 KMT in August 2015. Total exports in 2015/16 (September-August) were 331.7 KMT, which was 58% higher than in 2014/15 (210 KMT). As we expected, 2015/16 season finished with another record, continuing the existing tendency.

Key volumes of Ukrainian soybean meal were destined for Belarus (more than 33% of the total exports), Turkey (over 15%), Georgia (over 14%) and India (over 8%). Over the reporting season Georgia increased purchases and entered the top importers list of Ukrainian soybean meal. Active trade with new importer India made it also a leader among the buyers of this product.

Record level of exports in 2015/16 was achieved not only due to the higher demand from the traditional buyers, but also thanks to the opening of the new ones.
